Training Courses Offered
In order to ensure smooth functioning operations and adequacy of
the ARVs, ARV Access for Africa conducts training programs in the
areas of Warehouse Operations Management and in The
Supply Chain Management of HIV/AIDS Medicines and Supplies.

Course location and accommodation
All course venues located 40 minutes from the O. R. Tambo International
Airport. Necessary logistics information is provided prior to the
course.
Note that:
- Accommodation covered by the course fee is only for the course
dates indicated. No exceptions are made for participants checking
in prior to or extending their stay after the last date of the course.
Please note that should the participant arrive before the first
Sunday of commencement of course; or leave after 10:00am on the
last Saturday of the course, upfront payment is required for the
additional accommodation in South Africa.
- Participants’ Safety and Security is well taken care of,
from the Airport’s Arrival lounge up to the accommodation
sites.
- South Africa is full of recreational sites and activities that
range from;
(a) Classic Tourist Parks, Zoos and Game Reserves;
(b) State of the Art shopping Malls with diverse items;
(c) Diverse sightseeing locations such as Pretoria Zoo, The Soweto
Township, and State Museums among others.
All these extra curricula activities can be accessed upon attending
one of AA4A’s courses.
Certificate of Competence
Participants who successfully complete the duration of the course,
including submission of the final project plan, will be granted a
Certificate of Competence by ARV Access for Africa.
Health Insurance
All participants are required to have valid health insurance for
the duration of their stay. Sponsoring agencies are responsible for
obtaining health insurance for their participants.
Note: ARV Access for Africa will not be held responsible for
any personal loss or injury whilst attending the course, field trips
and excursions.
Visas and Flights
All participants are required to have a valid visa before entering
South Africa, AA4A will issue an invitation letter.
Note: The visa application procedure must
be initiated well in advance to avoid unnecessary delays. All relevant
information regarding flight details to and from South Africa must
be received no later than a week before the commencement of the training
course. This must include: airline, flight number, time and date of
arrival as well as time and date of departure.

Audience: This course attendance is currently restricted to participant directly funded by PEPFAR / SCMS and participation is by invitation only.
AA4A in collaboration with the Pharmaceutical Healthcare Distributor
(PHD) have developed a very successful “Warehouse Operations
Management” (WOM). The course is conducted in a close
collaboration with Supply Chain Management Systems (SCMS/South
Africa). The course is unique in the sense that for the first
time a WOM course is conducted in a warehouse environment with
Theoretical and Practical interactive sessions. ThE course is
intended to train warehouse managers, pharmacists and support
staff on various topics surrounding the general operation of
a pharmaceutical warehouse, skills development and planning
a project.

of Foreign Affairs; Johnson & Johnson Health Care Training
Fund; WHO; and UNICEF developed the Curriculum for this course.
The course is accredited by the South African Pharmacy Council.
